USSSA East Announces “Play Across the Bay” Initiative
Partners with HBC Event Services give teams an opportunity to win a $500 housing credit!
Pasadena, MD – USSSA East is encouraging teams to play in overnight weekend events in 2019 and is offering them a chance to win a $500 housing credit when teams play in overnight weekend events and book with USSSA East’s official team housing partner, HBC Event Services.
“The participant experience goes to a whole new level when teams take advantage of the travel component of the program”, says Glen Warholic, USSSA East’s “C” Program Administrator.“Having coached for many years, I valued the opportunity to travel to overnight events. It improved our team chemistry, helped us to better bond as a cohesive unit and gave us the opportunity to challenge ourselves against new and different competition.”
In calendar year 2019, teams who play in USSSA East events and book their housing with HBC Event Services will receive one entry for each room night that they book. Then in December of 2019, USSSA East will have a drawing and select three winners. One Maryland / Delaware team from east of the Chesapeake Bay, one Maryland team from west of the Chesapeake Bay and one non-Maryland / Delaware team that played anywhere in Maryland or Delaware will each win a $500 credit toward housing for their team in 2020.
“When a team is travelling overnight, we always do our level best to accommodate team requests due to travel in the tournament schedule. It doesn’t always work out but most times we are able to accommodate teams with later Saturday starts or even an early schedule to get them out of the park so that they have time for team bonding opportunities,” notes Andy Wisk, USSSA East Program Operations Director.“Plus, if teams book in advance with HBC, we can usually put them at a park that is fairly close to their hotel.”
USSSA East and HBC Event Services began their partnership in 2018 to give teams a higher level of service for their travel needs.“HBC is a customer service oriented organization and the feedback from the first year of our partnership has been overwhelmingly positive,” said Bill Dowell, USSSA Maryland and Delaware State Director.
Steve Heffernen from the Magic out of New Jersey notes that “HBC did a great job handling the reservations for me. I run a business and I love great customer service when I find it.HBC exceeded my high expectations.”
