Pasadena, MD – It’s been a long season, filled with ups and downs, championships and slumps and loads of memories of friends, family and softball. Many teams battle it out each weekend for the opportunity to call themselves “champions” while honing their softball skills and enjoying the experience of playing in USSSA events. As the leaves begin to fall from the trees, all of that begins to wind down, closing the book on another season.
Before the season fully comes to a close, USSSA East has announced one additional event that is being added to the fall calendar, the Fall Finale – A Team Appreciation Event, which will take place on October 28th and 29th. “We are excited to give our USSSA teams one more opportunity to get out on the field before moving indoors for the winter”, noted Andy Wisk, USSSA East Program Operations Director.
The event will offer all teams a four game showcase-type format, with two 90 minute games each day. Even though awards will not be offered, scores and standings will be kept and the event will effect a team’s USSSA Points and Power Rankings. The cost of the event is only $395 per team and space is extremely limited.
“We felt that an event with this format at this time of year would be a great opportunity for coaches to work players in different situations and get a good final feel for their team before heading indoors shortly thereafter for winter training” said Wisk.
There is one additional event on the USSSA calendar for Maryland and Delaware after the Fall Finale takes place. On November 4th and 5th, the 11th Annual Red Raiders’ SoftballFest will take place in Montgomery County, Maryland. It is open to all registered USSSA “B” teams.
